In view of the increasing cases of Corona, the Election Commission had taken strict action.

Earlier on Thursday, during the election campaign, the Election Commission took a tough stance on breaking the Corona Protocol on behalf of political parties.

The EC had released a new guideline for campaigning in Bengal. Under this, there were instructions not to allow road shows, pad yatras, cycle rally or bike rally. The gathering was prohibited from gathering more than 500 people.

The EC also reprimanded political parties for not following the Corona Protocol.
